What an absolute delightful stay we had at Rumah Luwih in the Gianyar region of Bali. Located 30 mins from Ubud, this resort is a true gem. As soon as we stepped on to the resort we were in complete awe at the refreshing beachfront view that was in front of us. To describe it as a ‘true beauty’ is an understatement, one would have to visit this resort to understand its raw yet refined beauty.
The Colonial style hotel, designed by the highly acclaimed Hadiprana family, features 75 rooms with an infinitely pool which boasts amazing views of the beach. The hotel also has a Chapel that can be used for weddings.
We spent the majority of our days relaxing by the pool as no doubt this was one of the most welcoming and beautiful pools we have encountered at all of our hotel stays. I loved the family friendliness aspect of this hotel, with 2 kids pools on either side of the main swimming pool. We also wandered down to the black sand beach that was connected to the resort for some fun time exploring with the kids.
I was treated to a lovely spa treatment overlooking the beautiful fields at this property. How completely relaxed I felt once I experienced my one-hour massage which also included a head massage (this is one of my favourite types of massages)! All of the treatments are very reasonably priced so if you are a guest at this hotel, this is a must-do!
The Andrawina Dining Room prepared some of the best Peranakan food I have tasted in my time in Bali. This was definitely a highlight as we were treated to a delicious assortment of local Indonesian cuisine. The Dining Room also serves Western dishes which caters for a wide selection of tastes.
Afternoon tea was delightful too and could be served in the Dining Room or by the pool. Of course, I chose poolside to enjoy this afternoon treat!
We were treated to all-round 5* star service at this resort. All staff were very eager to assist us in any way possible to satisfy our holiday needs. Thank you so much to the lovely staff, it was definitely a 5*star experience!
