I was very excited at the idea of staying at Ubud on this trip as I had visited Seminyak a few times recently in the past year. Having previously stayed at hotels that are part of the GHM group, I had a good idea of the luxury hotels that are part of this group however I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of The Chedi Club Tanah Gajah in Ubud. The resort is located approximately 45 minutes from the airport.
Designed by the highly acclaimed Hadiprana family, the resort covers over 5 hectares of land with villas of different sizes and extensive rice fields. We had the pleasure of staying in a Family Villa which comprised of 2 bedroom (an adult and kids room), a generous sized living room with a comfortable day bed and a private swimming pool. There was also a lovely outdoor bath which the boys and I enjoyed very much on one of the days after a long day out!
Needless to say, my two young boys were very happy to find that they had their own private room on this holiday.
We fell in love with this property immediately when we stepped foot on its beautiful lawns. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the staff where we were given a tour of the property before our entry into our villa. We spent the majority of the time during our stay by the main swimming pool which had beautiful views of the lily ponds in the background. The kids absolutely loved spending hours by the swimming pool where they enjoyed themselves immensely!
I loved the family friendliness aspect of The Chedi Club as it caters for children with activities such as tennis, table tennis, kite flying and swan feeding just to name a few! My boys were very excited to feed the swans especially when they found out that some of the swans came from Sydney! Daily yoga was also offered in the mornings which pleased this Mummy very much!
We enjoyed very much the quality and generosity of the food provided on our stay. Breakfast was a beautiful assortment of local Indonesian and Western food that could be ordered in the restaurant or villa. The restaurant boasts a magnificent view of the rice fields on every corner of the room. Our favourite table was in the middle of the restaurant where we experienced 180 degree views of the rice fields.
Each day a scrumptious complimentary afternoon tea was provided between 4pm to 6pm and it was ‘cocktail hour’ from 6 to 7pm. One could never go hungry at this resort! Also, did I mention the daily selection in the mini-bar that was refilled every day in our room!
Quality of Service – The Butler Experience
One of the highlights of the experience was the personal butler that we had during the duration of our stay. Our butler, Hendra looked after us with all our holiday needs, such as organising transport and providing suggestions of places to visit and restaurants. We felt very spoilt with that special level of attention and it was definitely a highlight of our stay at the The Chedi Club!
Overall, we had a wonderful time and my kids enjoyed it so much that they began singing about The Chedi Club! A true testament to the amazing time we had at this beautiful resort. Thank you so much for the five star experience!
This resort stay was in collaboration with The Asia Collective.
