Awarta Nusa Dua Bali – the food and spa *part-two*

Following on from my post on “Awarta Nusa Dua – what a beauty“, read on to see what I thought of the food and spa at Awarta Nusa Dua Luxury Villas and Spa.

The breakfast at Long Table

We had such lovely breakfasts from the Long Table restaurant each morning. With plenty of choices available, my breakfasts ranged from local Indonesian breakfast dishes like nasi goreng to egg white omelettes with croissants and fresh tropical fruits. I enjoyed being able to have breakfast by the pond area in front of the Long Table. What I loved even more was having breakfast by our private pool! We were absolutely spoilt one morning when our butler brought our breakfast to the villa. Simply marvellous!

The Dinner at Ru Yi

We had a delightful dinner at the award winning Chinese restaurant Ru Yi. A winner of Indonesian Tatler 2016 Best Restaurants award, we were treated to The Discovery Dinner which included delicious dishes such as fried snapper with sweet and sour sauce and fried prawn cooked in salted egg, both of which were two of my favourite dishes. Serving salt was very creatively decorated in the shape of a traditional monk!

Afternoon Tea Delights

Our bellies were full after the scrumptious breakfast and lunch meals during the day but we couldn’t resist the afternoon tea temptations. Local tea delights included pandan panacotta, banana fritters, sticky rice cake with Javanese sugar cream and chicken sambal metah on sliced cucumber. We enjoyed these local tea treats so much!

The Spa at Thevana

We were treated to the signature spa treatment – The Peranakan Heritage. This was the most delightful experience which involved a one-hour body massage, a full body scrub, a refreshing facial followed by a floral tea bath. It was my first time having a body scrub and it was such an enlightening experience!

The body scrub incorporated healing herbs and ground rice, tumeric and nutmeg to promote blood circulation. This was followed by a lemon verbena floral tea bath, which is a chinese cleansing bath used to eradicate negative energy and promote good health.

It was such a lovely experience and we left the spa feeling relaxed, refreshed and completely exfoliated!
